In my travels I am always looking out for nice one off pieces of fabric and I’ll often spot these in one of the vintage textiles shops I go to in Tokyo, Kyoto or Takayama or at a Temple market (mad but so much fun to visit!)

I’m like a magpie, attracted by the shiny things!

I have three one off pieces:

The first is a lovely soft woven piece in a soft grey with light brown and charcoal hashes interspersed with light brown crosses.

The second is a beautiful check pattern with a rich range of blues.

The third is a beautifully woven long strip in greens, gold and browns.

They are all from old kimono and would be great for a little project or just to add to a collection of Japanese textiles.
