I think this is going to be a one-off shibori indigo scarf!

It was part of the advanced Homework pack for my trip to Japan this year (2026).

Bryan sent us a number of templates which had to be transferred onto the fabric with a light box and a fabric marker pen. It had to be accurate and it took me more than a day to mark up…

The stitching took longer, I’m not sure I actually want to think about how long but more than 2 days.

Then, in Japan at the silk farmhouse, there was hours of carefully pulling up and straightening and 10 dips in the indigo, meticulous unpicking and rinsing in the river.

I found a couple of tiny stains, I’ve embroidered over them. They add to its charm…

This is a nice piece and I should be charging a lot more but hey, I’m not!
