Arashi "Storm" shibori scarf

Arashi "Storm" shibori scarf
The Japanese shibori technique of Arashi or “storm” involves wrapping fabric around a pole and binding it, creating pleats by pushing the bound fabric down the pole to form creased resist lines.
Its hard, physical work, as is the dyeing process, manhandling the pole in the indigo for the many dips required to get a dark enough blue.
The bamboo leaf marks down the scarf are introduced by creating pleats by hand as the fabric is bound to the pole and pushed down to create the pattern.
This scarf is made from an organic bamboo and cotton mix and feels lovely and soft on the skin.
Every piece is unique so the scarf you get will be similar to , but not identical to the one shown.
