This beautiful vintage kimono silk scarf was once part of a wedding kimono.

It has a pretty dark pink Cattleya orchid/autumn grass repeating pattern on top of a woven textured silk and has a luxurious softness to it.

Orchids represent love, luxury, beauty and strength which is why they were considered a great motif for a wedding kimono.

On my first trip to Japan I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a Japanese bride at the Shinto temple in Tokyo. She looked absolutely stunning in her wedding kimono.

It drapes beautifully and is long enough to be wrapped once or twice around the neck.

Please note that this is a narrow scarf.

There’s also a lovely woven pattern in the silk.
