I love finding wonderfulindigo dyed kasuri fabrics and discovered this one in the Nippori fabric district of Tokyo in a lovely vintage shop.

This scarf is made from a single length of the hashed lines fabric, woven kasuri and is a nice long scarf so very versatile.

The Kasuri weaving of the original fabrics is technically complicated process as the patterns are determined beforehand and the skeins of threads then space dyed for both the warp and the weft. The threads would have been dipped 30 times in Japanese indigo.

This is a beautiful, one of a kind scarf that would make a perfect gift for either a man or a woman.
