This sarong is made from beautiful, textured cotton and has the Arashi shibori pattern all across it. Arashi means “Storm” in Japanese.

The fabric is bound around a pole and both finger pleated and bound to create a criss cross pattern.

It took me many hours of painstaking work to bind and compress the fabric onto the pole as this is a very long piece.

It would make the perfect sarong for a warm beach night but works just as well as a shawl or long scarf if folded lengthwise.
